About Coach Grace

Grace began paddling outrigger canoes in 2016 at the age of 25, shortly after moving to Southern California for a new job. Seeking new friendships, she quickly developed a passion for the sport.Originally from Indiana, Grace swam competitively in high school before pursuing equine training in college. Her background in both disciplines—mastering control over unpredictable elements—translated seamlessly into paddling.
Since 2019, Grace has been a dedicated member of Dana Outrigger, contributing to the Open Women’s crew’s four consecutive victories in the prestigious Catalina Crossing. In 2023, she and her team achieved significant international success, winning their division at the IVF World Distance Championships in Samoa and securing a second-place finish at the Hawaiki Nui race in Tahiti.Additionally, she consistently places in local OC1 SoCal winter race series, showcasing her skill and dedication. With nearly a decade of continuous training and competition, Grace is eager to share her experience and knowledge with those looking to develop their paddling technique and deepen their connection to the sport.
